Paramedic Training Program

The Paramedic Training program at Las Positas College is a Community Services Offering. The program is a fee-supported, not-for-credit community service set of classes authorized pursuant to Education Code Section 78300 and approved pursuant to Subdivision (d) of Title 5, Section 55002, for which state apportionment is not claimed and credit is not awarded (Title 5, Section 55000).

The Las Positas College Paramedic Training Program has been approved by the Alameda County EMS Agency until May 31, 2016. Letter of Approval . The Las Positas College Paramedic Training Program has been issued a Letter of Review by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Profession (COAEMSP) valid until December 13, 2014. This means that the Las Positas College Paramedic Program has demonstrated satisfactory core information related to the Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in the Emergency Medical Services Professions of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Upon successful completion of the Las Positas College Paramedic Training Program, including the didactic, clinical, and field internship components, students will be eligible to sit for the licensing examination as a Paramedic with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).

The Paramedic training program prepares individuals to become paramedics. The Paramedic program at Las Positas College is a full-time, 18 month, fee-based, special admissions program.

The fee for the program is $9,768.00 payable in three installments:
$4,257.50 Payable by August, 12, 2014
$4,257.50 Payable by January 10, 2015
$1,253.00 Payable by June 10, 2015

The next cohort starts August, 2014. Admission is by special application only. Applications are being accepted from April 22nd through August 5th, 2014. If you are interested in this program, please review the attached application for eligibility requirements.
