Chabot-Las Positas College District will be closed through Sunday, November 18, 2018 due to poor regional air quality. All college and district offices will be closed, except for essential operations such as security/police and critical IT operations. Air quality will be monitored and decisions on any further action on closures will be forthcoming.
Cost is $100 per student per camp, payable through Las Positas College Community Education.
Cyber Camp is a five-day technology event designed to excite students new to cybersecurity about STEM career opportunities, and teach them important cyber defense skills through hands-on instruction and activities.
Through the camp, students will learn how to protect their personal devices and information from outside threats, as well as how to harden networks running Windows and Ubuntu operating systems. Daily sessions include instructor demonstrations, team-oriented research, hands- on lab activities, plus peer team building.
Cyber Camp culminates in an exciting final team competition that simulates real cybersecurity situations faced by industry professionals and mimics AFA’s Cyber Patriot National Youth Cyber Defense Competition.
