Basic Skills Student Outcomes and Transformations Grant
In August 2016, LPC was awarded a $1.4 million grant from the state of California to implement or expand innovations and redesign in the areas of assessment, student services, and instruction.
Over the next three years (Fall 2016-Spring 2019), we will be working on the following objectives:
Objective 1: Multiple Measures in Placement for Math and English: Continue implementation of Multiple Measures Assessment Project (MMAP) for English and begin the process for Math, and research and analyze the data to inform next steps in implementing Multiple Measures for Placement
Objective 2: Continue to design and implement co-requisite courses for basic skills math classes shorten the math sequence as well as offer additional learning supports.
Objective 3: Design and implement fast-tracking math classes, allowing students a pathway that is accelerated.
Objective 4: Continue supporting and improving LPC’s successful Math Jam with a goal of researching effectiveness, improving, expanding and fully institutionalizing.
Objective 5: Provide professional development for both English and Math faculty, improving student success in the classroom.
