CSU Articulation and Information

9/08 AP Exam Partially Satisfies American Institutions. CSU awards credit toward US-1 of the American Institutions requirement with a score of 3 or higher on the U.S. History AP Exam. Students would only need to take POLI 7 (which covers US-2 and US 3) to complete American Institutions.

2/07 CSU Transfer Unit Limits Removed Effective Fall 2007. The LPC curriculum committee voted to remove the CSU transfer unit limitations that we have previously had for: Colloquia, Contemporary Studies, Independent Study, Special Studies, Work Experience, MSCM, MUSIC, and Theater Arts.

1/07 Most CSUs Accept IB Exams. (Alvarado) LPC does not accept IB exams; however, it seems most (if not all) of the CSUs do. SFSU will accept the Higher Level English Language A exam with passing scores of 4 to 7. They will award 6 units and clear their version of English 1A and our version of English 3. LPC admissions will not certify CSU GE for English 1A but we can assure the student it will clear upon transfer.

5/06 CSU Credit for Prior Military Training Chart (per Todd Stefan) When reviewing and completing the VA Evaluation form, please indicate the Prior Credit Units. If it is 0, please indicate 0 instead of leaving it blank.

1/06 Some LPC & Chabot American Institutions Courses Interchangeable (per Andrea Alvarado)

Fall 2005: CSU uses the SAT for lower division transfer math placement.  First-time entering freshman and lower division transfer students who score a 550 or above are exempt from taking the CSU Entry Level Mathematics Placement Exam.  Upper division transfer students clear the requirement by completing the B4 GE course at a CCC.

5/03 Math Majors at CSU. Since the upper division course work generally requires two intense years of classes, it is essential that students complete the calculus sequence while still in community college in order to finish their degree within two years of enrollment at the CSU.
