Self Assessment

  • EUREKA -- MicroSkills Card Sort is an online motivated skills assessment available FREE to LPC students. LPC students and staff can enter the site code: kuxdkys to access this assessment.
  • Bay Area Career Guide: Bay Area Guide to Community College technical and vocational programs. Take their quick online interest inventory (survey).
  • Self-Directed Search On-line career interest assessment. The Self-Directed Search provides: a 1-3 Holland code and a list of matching occupations (and college majors) with identical and/or similar Holland codes. $9.95.
  • Reality Check A lifestyle self-assessment to determine the income needed for varying lifestyles and occupations that will financially support that lifestyle.

Labor Market Exploration

  • O*Net Online -- One of the largest sources of occupational information: what the job is like, skills needed, pay, education, and more.. You can search occupations by: job “families”, skills, interests, and more.
      • To search by 'Holland Code', do the following:
        • Click on "Find Occupations"
        • Click on "Interests"
        • Click on one 'Holland Code' (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, Conventional)
        • Select 1-3 'Holland Codes' and click "Go" to get a listing of related occupations.
  • Occupational Outlook Handbook -- Pick a job and find out all the facts: pay, employment outlook, training, and more.
  • Career Guide to Industries -- Helpful for someone wishing to explore a broad career field (such as healthcare or business) and identify related occupations.
  • Job Profiles -- Read about the individual career paths of people in a variety of careers.
