Notes:
9/08 USC 2008-09 Changes.
1. AP exams:
a) Effective with exams taken in Spring 2009, USC will grant credit for scores of 4 or 5 (but not 3).
b) Students who have received a 4 or 5 on a modern foreign language exam will have fulfilled their three-semester language requirement.
2. IB exams:
Several exams have been approved to fulfill USC's category II GE, in addition to the exams previously approved to fulfill categories I and III.
3. College courses taken before high school graduation fulfill all transferable GE categories:
Students may earn up to 16 units for college courses taken on the college campus, as part of the regular college curriculum. Effective Fall 2008, these courses may be used to fulfill categories I, II, III or V GE (previously they could only fulfill categories I and III). As before, these courses may not fulfill diversity or the writing requirement, nor may they earn equivalence to USC courses (though departments may use them to waive prerequisites or fulfill degree requirements, on a student-by-student basis).
