About the Program
The Computer Networking Technology program prepares students for a variety of career opportunities in the networking field. CNT classes prepare students for industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Microsoft MCSA, and CompTIA Net+, Security+ and A+. Coursework includes targeted skills training in emerging technologies, such as Cloud Computing, IoT, Virtualization, Wireless, Computer Forensics, Incident Response, Network Security and OS Hardening. Many of these subjects have become required knowledge even in other career fields. Students in Business, Sciences, Arts, and Administration of Justice may need skills in network technologies to excel in their fields. The Certificate of Achievement and Career Certifications provide quick paths to validate training in today’s important tech knowledge areas. The program also includes an AS degree in Network Security and Administration. This degree incorporates the latest in emerging technologies and skills employers are seeking.
About the Certificate
The Las Positas Computer Network Technology program offers courses that lead to a Certificate of Achievement in Cybersecurity. The certificate prepares students for direct job entry covering a wide array of professions such as Cybersecurity Engineer, Security Administrator as well as Security Architect. Th is program also prepares the student for the fast paced changes in Cybersecurity technologies as they emerge in the industry to assure a well prepared graduate for the marketplace.

Program Outcomes
- Upon completion of the Certificate of Achievement in Cybercecurity Professional, students are able to use analytical thinking and critical analysis skills necessary to analyze and solve computer network security issues to help protect computers and computer networks using multiple operating systems.
- Upon completion of the Certificate of Achievement in Cybersecurity Professional, students are able to use group collaboration and communications skills necessary to work eff ectively in a team to solve computer networking security issues and to document and present information on security risks and planned responses.
