Prior to the beginning of each semester you must submit a new Enrollment Certification Request. This form is used to certify your eligibility for benefits. Only courses listed on your educational plan may be certified. Do not wait to certify once you are enrolled in your classes, because VA way take up to 6-8 weeks before processing for payments.
You can only request certification for classes currently enrolled in, not classes that you are going to add soon.
Certification must be done in person. If unavailable to certify in person, contact the Veterans Office.
Please keep your personal contact information updated with the LPC Veterans office to ensure you receive all pertinent information regarding your educational benefits.
In order to receive an extension of fees/tuition, please request for certification of classes early (before drop dates of non-payments) or request that an extension is added at the Veterans Office.
2014/2015 LPC Veterans Enrollment Certification
(Summer 2014/Fall 2014/Spring 2015)
Ch. 30 and 1606 students are responsible for verifying their own enrollment at the end of each month. You must do this to get your benefit check for school attendance the previous month. Contact the VA Regional Processing Office each month by phone at 1-877-823-2378 or on-line at https://www.gibill.va.gov/wave/.
Ch. 33 is not required to do Monthly Verification. If you have CH. 33 and need to add/drop/change classes immediately let the Veterans Office at Las Positas College know this (helps prevent overpayments/underpayments from VA)
IMPORTANT: YOU ARE REQUIRED TO INFORM THE VETERANS OFFICE WITHIN A WEEK OF WITHDRAWING FROM A COURSE, or you will be subject to overpayment of benefits by V.A., which may delay and/or reduce future benefits and/or require repayment of excess funds received.
