Web Account Request Process For Faculty
- All requests for websites must go to the Webmaster first.
- Please do not request a website from the DesignShop. If an instructional
website is designed or created by the DesignShop, the webmaster
has the right to either require necessary changes be made (to adhere
to the Web Policy and/or Web Style Guide), or to deny posting
of the site.
- What is the purpose of the website?
- If you are an INSTRUCTOR, please contact Scott
Vigallon, the Instructional Technology Coordinator. He will discuss
using our online course management system, Blackboard, with you.
- If, after discussing using Blackboard, you wish to have space
on the faculty web server to post pages for use within
Blackboard, please complete
the Web Account Request
Form.
- If you intend to use a website to market or advertise your
classes or department, please complete
the Web Account Request
Form.
- If you have an existing website that
is NOT hosted on Las Positas College web servers, we encourage
you to move your website to the faculty web server. Please
complete the Web Account
Request Form for access to the faculty
server.
- If you are not interested in using Blackboard, but with to have
a website to supplement your face-to-face class, you may use a
pre-formatted faculty template.
- When you have completed the Web Account Request Form, the Webmaster
will contact you to schedule a training session for using the template
and provide you with server access information, the District Web Policy,
the Las Positas College Web Style Guide, Web Accessibility Guidelines,
and the District Copyright Policy.
- ALL websites, regardless of where they are hosted, must comply
with the District Web Policy.
- When the website has been completed, please contact the Webmaster
to have your website listed under Faculty Websites.
