  • BIO 29D Independent Study, Dissection
    • Geared toward members of the LPC Cadaver Team, providing specialized training and opportunities to practice prosection and dissection in preparation for anatomy coursework
    • Separate from independent study in anatomy; this work is specifically focused on Cadaver Team activities and the development of dissection and prosection skills.

  • 7.1 TOP to CIP Code Transition
    • TOP and CIP codes are used for data collection and reporting. TOP (Taxonomy of Programs) codes were developed for use in California, while CIP (Classification of Instructional Programs) codes were developed at the national level.
    • Changes will happen directly within CurrIQunet; will not be approved by the curriculum approval process. 
  • 7.2 Technical Review Discussion
    • Open discussion regarding curriculum items for technical review. 
    • JE: are resources available beyond the training slides?
    • DN: Available resources include the technical review checklist, materials on the META dashboard/website, and the Curriculum Handbook, which outlines expectations and explains the fields in META.
    • JE: is there a recommended timeline for reviewing items?
    • DN: I recommend checking the review queue weekly to ensure effective terms aren’t effected for faculty. 
    • CK: proposals move through several review stages before being placed on the agenda. Items should progress through the process as soon as possible because proposals intended to take effect the following fall must be entered by the end of the current semester.
    • CK: for counselors reviewing student services items should focus primarily on the program map.

    • Meetings are being held with faculty regarding CIP/TOP codes and upcoming CPL updates.
    • CPL policies will be revised to align with recent Title 5 changes. Many CPL proposals may be delayed and will likely need to proceed through the curriculum approval process before implementation.
    • Student Services and Counseling will need to provide students with guidance on CPL options.
    • The website will be redesigned to include more detailed information about each CPL method, including updated descriptions and requirements.
    • Credit-by-examination is being revised to assess broader course content rather than relying solely on a single examination.
    • The Women’s and Gender Studies TMC is nearing approval.
    • CSU Mathematics Committee – requiring all exams to be in-person, separate from Title 05; only announced from CSU academic senate. Nothing will have to change until chaptered in Title 5.
