Classroom Equipment
All classrooms located on the Las Positas Campus are equipped with a number of audio visual features to enhance the learning experience. Projectors must be laser and meet the minimum standard of 6,500 lumens. This is to ensure the brightness of the image and also eliminating the need to change bulbs. Custom instructor desks hold the racked equipment that is required for the functionality of the learning environment. Computer systems are available at each instructor desk. Instructor desks are equipped with Extron Cable cubby's. The cable cubby allows for the connectivity and changing of laptops, tablets, and other mobile devices. Document cameras and visual presenters are also available in each learning environment.
In 2018 wireless collaboration was introduced into the newest audio visual standards. Las Positas is currently utilizing the Share-Link 2500 Series Wireless Collaboration unit. This technology allows instructors and students to mirror cast laptops, tablets, and other mobile devices to the audio visual system. The latest standard includes internet access for both hardwired and wireless devices. Mobile devices can also utilize wireless mirror casting or hardwired connectivity for audio and video. Visual presentation units, microphones, and assisted listening devices are also standard in all classrooms.
