Business and Marketing Discipline Plan for Delivering Instruction in DE format

How students access course content and communicate with instructors?

  1. Face to Face classes (all full time and part-time instructors)
    1. Utilize tools in Canvas to facilitate
      1. Synchronous or Asynchronous lectures and class discussions (See note for Zoom below in #4)
      2. Discussion boards
      3. Announcements
      4. Messaging
      5. Online submission of assignments
      6. Homework management systems
      7. Instructors may use additional online tools
      8. Video lectures via Zoom or YouTube
    2. Listing new/ changes to Office hours:
      1. Options—on campus, online, via phone
      2. Zoom video conferencing
    3. Changes to Syllabus and grading: It’s important to inform students about change in instruction method and grading criterion for the new setup.
      1. Scoring of additional or substitute assignments
      2. Where to find the new assignments
      3. Due dates and how to submit assignments
      4. Additional grading criterion changes
      5. Any other change that will affect completion of the course
  2. Hybrid classes (all full time and part-time instructors)

    1. No changes required

Equal Access to the Internet

  1. For students who do not have computer or Internet access
    1. LPC library and Online Student Services
    2. LPC Computer labs
    3. Local libraries

Providing Links

  1. Links to campus resources (such as Counseling and Library) should be provided by LPC
    1. Library

    2. Counseling

Using Zoom Video Conference Tool or any other tool:

  1. Accessibility in Canvas:
    1. Log in to Canvas

    2. Choose Setting on the Navigation Panel

    3. Choose Navigation tab

    4. Scroll Down & choose ConferZoom and drag it to the upper panel and hit save button at the bottom

    5. Create a log in and the account is confirmed automatically

    6. The class meeting session can be recorded and used for later use

  2. Accessibility on the Web: https://zoom.us/home?zcid=2478
    1. In number 4 above, if the system for confirming the account is backed up, then search Zoom conference on the web, log in and create a meeting.

    2. Meeting times: Meeting times using the web Zoom are limited to 40 minutes only

    3. Upgrade: An upgrade is available for $15.99 per month for longer meetings than 40 minutes. The cost for this option is (at this point) not being funded by the college

    4. Using other tools for video conference: Faculty can choose any tools they feel necessary for effective contact and learning. Most common ones are Zoom, Conference, Screen-o-matic etc
