Mission Statement
The Law & Justice Club empowers students to explore the justice field beyond the classroom through meaningful engagement and real‑world opportunities. Members connect with guest speakers, gain insight into career pathways, access internship opportunities, enjoy field-trips and build a supportive network of peers interested in law, policing, corrections, courts, and community service. Participation strengthens your academic and professional profile for transfer applications and future employment, while fostering leadership, service, and community engagement.
And yes, the club often provides free lunch!

MEETINGS
The Club meets the second Thursday of each month in the 3400 Building, Room 3434 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm.
MEMBERSHIP
A Las Positas College student - all majors are welcome!
Please know you do not need to attend all of the meetings to be a member of the club. If you can attend the September 8th meeting, you can sign up then. Otherwise, please email lpclawandjusticeclub@gmail.com to join - once club officers have been established, they will check the email and add you to the club roster.
CLUB OFFICERS
Student clubs at LPC must have four officers — President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary — and each role must be held by a different student. To serve as a club officer, you must be enrolled in at least 5 units and maintain a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA, which will be verified by the Program Coordinator. If you’re interested in leadership, campus involvement, or building your résumé, this is a great opportunity to step into a meaningful role.
At the first meeting of the semester, we will discuss electing our Club Officers for the year. Please contact the Club Advisor, Professor Mackey, if you are interested!
CLUB FACULTY ADVISOR
Professor Cheryl Mackey, Esq., serves as the faculty advisor to the Law & Justice Club. She brings her experience in legal practice, justice‑system education, law enforcement and student mentorship to the role, supporting the club’s mission to help students explore careers in law, policing, courts, and public service.

Join us for the first Law & Justice Club meeting of the 2026–2027 academic year on September 10, 2026, from 1:00–2:00 PM in Room 3434. We’re excited to kick off a new year — all students/ majors are welcome!
