Your Safety Matters
As a state agency, your safety is more than 'a nice thing to do', it's Las Positas College's responsibility.
Under the Constitution of the state of California, all students and staff (regardless
of immigration status) have a right to privacy and
"the inalienable right to attend campuses which are safe, secure and peaceful."

Data Safety
Your information is protected. We follow all federal and state privacy laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and CA Model Policies. Therefore, your immigration status and related information are not shared without your written permission or a judicial warrant.
As per California's Model Policies, teachers and staff are required to be trained on student safety. Our team also receives training to understand the needs and rights of undocumented students. We are here to help, not to report.
-
- Look for our Ally Stickers displayed by trained staff!
- Review these guidelines that all California Community Colleges must follow in case ICE ever enters a college campus!
Thousands of undocumented students enroll in CA colleges every year!
Your Comfort Matters
Our program is open to all students, including U.S. citizens with undocumented parents, students with various immigration statuses, and undocumented students. Connecting with us does not mean you are sharing your status.
You can reach out safely and without pressure. You do not need to share your immigration status to ask questions or request support. We will never ask unless it is required for a specific service, and if we do, we will explain exactly why and will never share your information without your permission.
