Katie Brunner received her bachelor’s degree in music from Indiana University, where she studied with Sidney Rosenberg and Kim Walker, and her master’s degree in bassoon performance and pedagogy from Northern Illinois University, where she studied with James Berkenstock.
An active freelance musician, Ms. Brunner enjoys playing in both small chamber ensembles as well as in orchestral settings. She is a member of the Livermore-Amador Symphony and regularly plays with other area ensembles. In addition to being on the faculty at Las Positas College, Ms. Brunner maintains a teaching studio at home, coaches the bassoon students at Amador Valley and Foothill High Schools in Pleasanton, and is the bassoon teacher at the Hayward-La Honda Music Camp.
