Las Positas College Orchestra

Need an extra credit? Looking for Bach? Miss playing your instrument? Come join with us on Wednesday nights from 6:00 - 9:00pm in room 4138.

The LPC Orchestra provides unique performance opportunites for both rising and established musicians. The symphonic repertoire covers a wide spectrum of genres and composers ranging from Bach to Hendrix (yes, as in Jimi!) and is selected with focus on the technical and musical development of the students. Concerts often include original compositions and arrangements of students as well as from local composers.

This course can be used as a required ensemble for music majors who perform on an orchestral instrument. This course can also be used as an elective for all registered LPC students.

Memebership in the LPC Orchestra is open to all registered LPC students. Community members are also welcome to join the ensemble through LPC Community Education, by signing up for Community Orchestra.

Auditions take place the first week of fall classes. This is a seating audition as well as a meet and greet with the conductor, Cindy Browne Rosefield. Students are welcome to challange seat assignments at each new semester.

We believe that music is a universal source of joy and should be shared by all.
