Textbook Assistance Scholarship (TAS) aslpc logo



The Textbook Assistance Scholarship is sponsored by the Associated Students of Las Positas College (ASLPC) and funded by the Follett Higher Education Group.  It is a program available only to students of Las Positas College. It is intended for students who do not receive other financial aid but struggle to meet the costs of their education. This program will provide a student with up to $500 for one semester to purchase books and/or classroom supplies (food and clothing are prohibited) at the Las Positas College Bookstore.

Terms and Conditions

Applicants must be enrolled as an LPC student for the semester for which they are applying and must be in good standing with at least a 2.0 GPA and not on Academic Probation.  Selections will be made by the ASLPC TAS Committee comprised of the Director of Student Life, the Programs and Services Officer, and two Student Senate members.  Selections will be based on the student’s TAS Application consisting of the Financial Aid Information form and the Personal Essay.  Each student’s Financial Aid Information will be verified by LPC’s Financial Aid Office prior to selection. 

Please Note:  Funds expire on September 16th, 2016. If a student’s financial aid status changes after submitting the application and the student receives any of the support listed, the student’s acceptance to the program may be revoked.  Selected students will be able to purchase textbooks and class-related supplies from the LPC Bookstore for the Fall 2016 semester.  Any books or class supplies returned to the LPC Bookstore by the student will be credited back to TASNo cash will be given to the student.
