Job Search
The LPC Career Transfer and Employment Center has information and provides services to begin a successful job search
- Informational Interviews. What is it? You meet with a professional in a career that interests you and find out more about their field and career path. Most people love to share their ‘story’ and speak with a well-prepared student for 20 minutes or so. Start locating people to talk to through your “personal network” of family, neighbors, co-workers, LPC faculty, etc. Visit the Career Transfer and Employment Center for information on how to conduct a successful informational interview.
- Job Shadowing Each spring semester, through the LPC Career, Transfer and Employment Center, students have the opportunity to spend a day, on-the-job with professionals in various careers.
- LPC Internship Program. Is your current job related to your interests? Is it a place where you could see yourself gaining entry-level skills and experience to launch yourself toward a satisfying career? While some internships require volunteer work to get your foot in the door, many internships are paid. They are a great way to explore careers, gain career-related experience, and start making professional contacts.
