The What‐If function can be found under the worksheets tab, on the left side of the DegreeWorks menu. This feature is designed to offer you an opportunity to view how proposed changes can affect their path towards graduation. Once the new scenario has been generated, you will notice that all of their selections will appear in real time. DegreeWorks will then take your entire course history and apply it to the audit with the newly selected changes.
Performing a What If
Click on the “What If” link on the left‐side of the audit screen under the “Worksheets” tab.
Once at the What-If screen, you will be able to use the drop‐down boxes to select the desired Level, Degree, Academic Year (Catalog Year).
Once you have selection their desired Level, Degree, and Catalog Year, they will then be given the choice to select a different area of study (Major). Your selection will be added to a list box on the right named Chosen Areas of Study. If you would like to remove any of their choices, select it from the list and click the “Remove” button located below the list box.
Choose Future Classes
This feature allows students to enter a list of courses and see how they will be applied. It is a great tool to use as part of the registration process.
After selecting the desired criteria, press the “Process What‐If” button at the top of the page.
