*Las Positas College Debit Card

BankMobileWe are bringing Las Positas College students a new and improved refund process, the Las Positas College Debit Card through BankMobile Vibe. When students have a refund due to them, Las Positas will “release” these funds to BankMobile, who will then distribute the refunds to account that you have selected. Our scheduled REFUND date is the date the college transmits your grant funds to Higher One. Your funds will be available in your BankMobile Vibe Account within 24 hours of the Refund Date, and no later than 5pm the following day. BankMobile and Las Positas College do not have access to and cannot provide any other detailed information regarding the exact time your account will be funded. The financial aid payment process begins when awarded aid is authorized and charged to the student's Las Positas College account, paying any eligible outstanding fees and charges or institutional debts. The remainder is released to the student in what is known as a "financial aid refund." Please Note: Scholarships are NOT processed through Higher One. Only student loans, federal, and state grant funds go through the electronic payment process.


Within one week of Las Positas College receiving your financial aid application results (FAFSA), you should receive a bright green envelope in the mail from BankMobile with the Refund Selection Kit inside for you to choose a refund preference. Don’t throw it away – it’s NOT a credit card application! It is your Refund Selection Kit! Even if you are not currently expecting a refund from Las Positas College Financial Aid Office, we may have a refund for you in the future.

You Received the Green Envelope, Now What?

Once you receive the envelope:

ImportantPlease let us know if you have not received the bright green envelope with the Refund Selection Kit inside with instruction for how to choose your refund preference. If you chose the BankMobile Vibe account and have not received the LPC Debit Card, we can have BankMobile (formerly Higher One) Generate and Instant Personal Code! Click here for details. The Refund Selection Kit will enable you to select how you would like to receive your refund money.  Inside the kit, you will find your own unique Personal Code, as well as information about the refund options available to you.  Once you have reviewed your choices, simply visit refundselection.com  and use your Personal Code to make your selection.

Start at www.refundselection.com - to set up your refund preference. Please make a choice as soon as you receive the green envelope, click Let's Get Started, follow the steps, and choose a refund preference.

What is the BankMobile Vibe Account?

Your new Las Positas Debit Card is designed to provide you with choices when it comes to receiving your financial aid refunds—including the preferred "BankMobile Vibe Account" method. Choosing the BankMobile Vibe Account is by far the fastest and easiest way to gain access to your refund money—within 24 hours of when Las Positas College releases your refund. 

You have choices:

  • Electronic Deposit to a BankMobile Vibe account. If you choose to open a BankMobile Vibe checking account, your card can be used as a debit card (NOT a credit card) the money will be available within 24 hours
  • Deposit to another account, it may take 2-3 business days for the transaction to be processed and made available to you by your bank
  • Paper Check Delivered by USPS (Not recommended) With a check, the U.S. mail could take 5-7 business days.

How Can I Check on the Status of My Refund?

Higher One is dedicated to the fast, easy disbursement of your refund. To check on the status of your refund, simply:

Please be aware that your refund can only be processed after it is released to BankMobile by Las Positas College.

When your refund has been processed Higher One will send a notification to you via email.

How do I Reset the PIN for my Card?

For security reasons, Customer Care doesn't have access to the PIN you created during the selection of your refund preference. But not to worry, to reset your PIN simply:

  • Log In To Your Profile.
  • Under the 'User Profile' tab, click on 'Password/PIN'.
  • In the 'Change PIN' box, click the 'Forgot or Lost PIN' link.
  • Enter the required information in the boxes provided.
  • Click 'Submit' to complete the reset.

Please Note: Unless you have been locked out, your new PIN will be effective immediately. If you have been locked out, your new PIN will be effective in 24 hours from the last incorrect PIN attempt.
