Students currently enrolled in an accredited California state or community college who need the Berkeley collections for advanced research may purchase a card upon presentation of a valid current registration card showing an expiration date. The fee is $25 for a six month card. This card carries limited services and does not include interlibrary borrowing services; access to items on reserve for UC Berkeley classes; access to special databases involving contractual arrangements between the University and the database vendor; remote access to electronic databases requiring a password; special collections such as the Media Center. The number of books which may be charged out on this card is limited to 20 at any one time. Applications must be accompanied by a valid identification that includes proof of California residence. Payment for the card may be made by check or money order, made payable to The Regents of the University of California, or by Visa, MasterCard, Discover or ATM card.
