Blackboard on Mobile Devices
Ever wanted to do your class work on your mobile device? With Blackboard Mobile Learn, now you can...depending on which device you use.
LPC students with select Android and BlackBerry devices or with an Apple iPad, iPhone or iPod touch can download the free Blackboard Mobile Learn app to access their Blackboard courses. Within their courses, students can view, and post to, the Discussion Board, Blogs and Journals; view Announcements, images and PDFs; check grades; use the Tasks tool; and watch, and listen to, certain multimedia files.
Keep in mind, however, that there are restrictions:
- The app is not yet customized for every Blackboard tool and feature.
- The app will only work on the Sprint 3G/4G network on select Android and BlackBerry devices.
- The app will only work over Wi-Fi (wireless Internet) on the iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. It will not work over the AT&T network.
After downloading and installing the app, launch it, then do a search for Las Positas. Choose Chabot-Las Positas Community College District. Enter your Blackboard username and password. A list of your available courses will appear.

Blackboard currently offers a more robust paid service, but given the state of budgets at educational institutions in California, it is extremely unlikely that LPC will pay for the service in the foreseeable future.
