Tatjana Pitts received First Team All Conference honors on Saturday, Taylor Borba and Mariah Ward were awarded honorable mention all conference. Pitts averaged 12.2 pts, 10.9 rebs and scored a game high of 24 points this season. She was #49 in the state and #12 in the Coast Conference for scoring. Averaging a double double in both conference and overall helped the freshmen power forward gain such an award.

Borba averaged 11.2 pts, 9.0 rebs, and 2.3 stls. She was #13 in the conference in scoring and scored a game high of 20 points this season. Ward who was also all conference honorable mention averaged 12.2pts and led LPC in three point shooting 25/88. She also had a game high this season of 17 points.

All three freshmen had a notable year and the Hawks look forward to their return next season.


Lady Hawks 0-2 Week 1 of Conference Play

The Lady Hawks kicked off the season 0-2 but showed major improvement losing by a margin 7. Most notably outstanding bench play from Channing Chavira helped the Hawks pull within four points of Skyline. Her valient effort off the bench hittling a three and dishing for a lay up was not eneough . Skyline pulled away from the Hawks. Leading the way thus far this season averaging double digits: Taylor Borba, Tatjana Pitts, and Mariah Ward. The young Hawks squad starts 5 freshmen and are showing promise of good things to come. The Hawks take on San Mateo next 5 pm at home January 12th.

Lady Hawks Drop a Tough Loss in Conference Opener

The Lady Hawks opened Coast Conference North play at home versus Chabot January 5, 2011. The Hawks played a strong game versus Chabot in the tough loss. At halftime LPC trailed by one point 25-24. They battled to close the gap but late three's by Chabot's Samantha Gipson sealed the game for Chabot 55-48.

The Hawks were led by Taylor Borba who had 18 points. Tatjana Pitts chipped in 12 points and 12 boards. The Hawks will head to Skyline on Friday for a road game at 7 pm.


Hawks beat Cerro Cosso

The Lady Hawks beat Cerro Cosso at the Hartnell Classic Friday December 3rd. Taylor Borba and Tajana Pitts lead all scorers with 14 points each. Borba also chipped in with 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Stephanie Quon had a stellar defensive performance with 3 blocks and and 8 rebounds. Mariah Ward gave the Hawks a boost in the second half scoring 11 points and going 2-2 from the free throw line.

On Saturday the Hawks fell to Taft 47-71 and then lost a close one on Sunday versus a strong Merced team 58-69. The Hawks take on Modesto this Friday 5 pm at home and follow it up Saturday versus Siskiyous at 5pm. Check out the Hawks at home this week.

Lady Hawks Gaining Momentum Going into December

Through the month of November the Las Positas Lady Hawks are 3-4. The much improved Hawks have notable wins over Coastal South Conference Monterey, Cabrillo, and Hartnell. Two of the victories came on the road. In addition the current RPI is 35 out of 88 teams in the state.

At the start of November the Lady Hawks dropped the first two on the road to Los Medanos and Reedley, but the resilient  Hawks came back to win the home opener on November 9th versus Monterey Peninsula 64-60.  That victory was quickly followed up by another one on the road to Cabrillo College.  An overtime victory, the Hawks showed that despite boasting 11 freshmen they were posed under pressure.

On November 20th the Lady Hawks traveled to Susanville to play Lassen and lost a heartbreaker 68-62 in a tough road match up. On November 23 the Hawks played host to a strong Mission team and lost  79-70. However, the Hawks would bounce back to beat Hartnell on the road in a come from behind win 59-56.

Currently the leading scorers for LPC are Tatjana Pitts (11.0 pts), Mariah Ward (10.7 pts), and Taylor Borba (10.5 pts). Stephanie Quon leads the team in blocked shots at 2.2 which ranks her 11th in the state. Pitts who is the team’s leading scorer also leads in rebounds at 11.2 per game giving the freshmen forward a statistical double double every game. Ashlee Stephens the team’s starting point guard leads the team in steals, assists, and chips in with an average of 8.7 points per game. Adding a spark to the lineup has been Kayla Williams who leads the teams in free throw percentage at 75%.

Next up, the Hartnell tournament December 3-5th. LPC will take on Cerro Coso at 4pm at Hartnell College. The next home game will be December 10th versus Modesto College tip off at 5pm. To catch up on box scores and team stats check out


The Lady Hawks Return to the Nest with a Victory

The Lady Hawks started their 2010/11 Season at the Nest Tuesday night, Nov. 10th with a victory over MPC (Monterey Peninsula College), 64-60.

Tonight (Friday Feb. 22, 2008) our Soph. Lady Hawks will be putting on the red/white/back for the last time during the regular season at the Nest. But don't worry the season may not be over. There is hope for play-offs and possible play-off game(s) at the Nest. Coach Fletcher should know if we are seeded in Play-offs next week. Stay tune....

Coaches of the Lady Hawks

The Lady Hawks played with all heart Wednesday night at the Nest against the Foothill Owls. The Foothill Owls came to the Nest ranked #1 in the North, #3 in the Top 50 Coaches Poll. At the Half, the Lady Hawks led Foothill 29-27. Between many unlucky calls and some missed shots, the Owls pulled ahead to win 65-45. We should be very PROUD of these amazing ladies. Janine "Ja Ja" Jackson lead the Lady Hawks with 17 points and Donisha Tate followed with 14 points. Next game at the nest is a double header in which the Lady Hawks play Skyline at 7 pm. Lady Hawks See Another WIN on their hope to be on the "Road to Play-offs"

Our Lady Hawks traveled to the College of San Mateo Wednesday night and took another win, 62-52 . The Lady Hawks face two teams on Feb. 13th (Foothill) and on the Feb. 16th (Skyline). These are very important teams to beat if the Lady Hawks want to play in the post season play-offs. Come out and support your Lady Hawks.

Lady Hawks Soar Past San Jose City College

The Lady Hawks soar past San Jose City College 78-53 Friday night with a needed win. Donisha Tate led the Lady Hawks with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Freshman sensation Jennifer "J" Wilkenson was second high scorer for the Hawks with 12 points including 9 points from 3-point land.. Three Lady Hawks had 7 rebounds each - Tate, Inouye, and Otten.

Lady Hawks Take Another Bad Loss to SF City College

The Lady Hawks run into some turbulent winds, which has caused them to lose 3 games in a row. After some readjusting, they should be back in full form.

Despite losses, D-Tate continues to lead in the state in various categories.

Lady Hawks Take Some Hard Losses on the Road

Our Lady Hawks take two losses back to back on the Road. 60-48 lost to Chabot last Wed. then a 65-56 lost to Skyline on Friday. They come back home to play SF City College. This game will be very important if the Lady Hawks want to go to play-offs this year. Tip-off is at 5 pm, Wed., Jan. 30th. vs. the Rams of SF City College.

Lady Hawks Send the Bulldogs to the Dog Pound

The Lady Hawks came home to the Nest to play the San Mateo Bulldogs in their second Coast Conference game of the year. Lady Hawks 78 Bulldogs 50. They are now 2-1 in league. Donisha Tate lead the way for the Lady Hawks, scoring 23 points and Kira Inouye followed with 13 points. They return to the Nest January 19th @ 5:00 pm to host Hartnell.

Women finish 2nd in Tournament

The Women brought home a 2nd place trophy from the Allen Hancock Tournament this past weekend. They dropped the final game to Saddleback College, with a 62-77 loss. The ladies continue on the road this Wednesday, December 12 at De Anza. Next home game is January 11.

Lady Hawks Continue Winning Streak

The Lady Hawks picked continue their winning streak beating San Diego City College 73-47, during the opening day of the Barstow College Tournament, which runs November 16-18.

Lady Hawks swooped down on the Butte Roadrunners on November 14, with a 89-79 win. The Lady Hawks were up 24-7 early in the game, but the Roadrunners fought back to 38-39 at the half. Our Hawks held on and pulled away late.

2006-2007 Season

In The Beginning. ..


What a way to start off a program. The Lady Hawks finished the season 20-11, and took 3rd in league, which landed them a 12th seed in the Nor Cal playoffs. We are proud of these young group of girls, and cannot wait to see what next season has in store for them. Congratulations to Stefahnie Montanez and Donisha Tate for making the All-Conference Team. Donisha Tate was also selected to the 3rd Team All State.

The Lady Hawks Bounce Back Against the Trojans


The Lady Hawks (20-9, 6-3, 14th in Nor Cal) battled to the very end to pull-out the win against the Skyline Trojans (13-13) 70-64. All five starters for the Lady Hawks contributed to the win. Donisha Tate scored 20 points, Janine Jackson had 13, Adryan Sterling contributed with 12, Stefahnie Montanez with 11, and Marresha Lynch added in 10. The Lady Hawks will be traveling to play Foothill College (23-8, 7-1, 6th in Nor Cal) on Feb. 14th at 7:30 p.m. Please come and support the Lady Hawks as the battle their way for a spot in the play-offs.

Lady Hawks Too Little Too Late


The Lady Hawks (19-9, 14th in Nor Cal) came out slow and passive against the intense Rams of San Francisco (18-10, 12th in Nor Cal). After the Rams came out with a 23-4 league, the Lady Hawks fought back to close the gap, but could not pull out the win. The final score was 50-60, with Donisha Tate leading all scores with 25. Next up for Las Positas is Skyline College. The Lady Hawks will play the second part of a double header here at the Nest, tip off is at 7.

Ranked 12th in the coaches poll


The LadyHawks rank 12th in the Top 15 Teams in the North, according to the Coaches Poll. This is an honor, and it shows what a great job first year Head Coach, Toni West, and her team of Freshman are doing! Keep up the good work Ladies!

Victorious over Chabot


The Lady Hawks came out victorious over the Chabot Gladiators. The final score was 47-30. Donisha Tate dominated again with 16pts and 18 boards. Marresha Lynch had 10.

This brings the team's results to 19 wins, 8 losses overall; and 7 wins, 2 losses in Conference.

LadyHawks swoop down on Cabrillo Seahawks


LPC wins another one! Despite the Seahawks having a home court advantage, the LPC LadyHawks beat them 86-41.

San Mateo Bulldogs sent back to their dog house


The LPC Women's Basketball team played with great passion last night, and beat the San Mateo College Bulldogs by one point - LPC 61, San Mateo 60.

Donisha Tate continues to dominate on the court with 17 points. Stefahnie Montanez scored 13 points, and up-and-coming star Kira Inouye 11.

Coach West was pleased with the win, but more importantly pleased with how well the women worked together on the court - "this was our best game as a team so far this season."

The Lady Hawks take flight at the Nest against the Rams of City College of SF Wednesday, Feb. 7th. Tip-off @ 7:00 pm. Come out and support your play-off bound Lady Hawks!

Lady Hawks ranked 3rd in Conference


With a 4-2 conference record, the Women's Basketball team is ranked 3rd in the Coast Conference - North Division. The Lady Hawks have an overall record of 16-8, and are currently ranked #14 in Northern California by the Coaches Poll.

Lady Hawks Let Down


Our Lady Hawks were defeated last night by City College of San Francisco, 71-56. According to LPC Coach Toni West -'"SF City played the game of their lives."

Donisha Tate was high scorer with 24 points.
Adryan Sterling scored 15 points.

Lady Hawks keep on winning


Our Lady Hawks continue their winning steak as they defeated the Hartnell Panthers Saturday, 84-69.

High scorers as follows:
Donisha Tate 20, Mareshaa Linch-Sapp 16, and Janine Jackson 15.

Heart Break for the Lady Hawks


As always the women played with their hearts, but the Lady Hawks came up short with a loss to the Foothill Owls Wednesday Night at the Nest, 52-60. The score remained very close throughout the night.
