Student Learning Outcomes

Step 3: Measure the Outcome

Based on your rubric, give each student a score (0-5, for example, if you are using a 5-point rubric). Make sure you translate these scores into raw scores or percentages to give to your students and to possibly enter into your gradebook.

  1. To enter the rubric score into eLumen, click My Course Offerings, then Preparation.  On the Prepare Assessments in Your Course Offering page, select your term (i.e. Spring 2008), then select your course and section. Click Acknowledge.  This tells eLumen you are ready to assess/score your students.
  2. Click Scoring on the left. Select your term, select a course and section, then choose your assessment. Click the radio button below each student's score. Click Save.
  3. To view all of your students and their scores for each assessment, click Class Scores. Select your term, then select a course and section. This will show you individually whether each student achieved the SLO.
  4. To view the class' cumulative scores for each assessment, click Class Achievements, then select your term, course and section. Indicate how you prefer to see the scores by clicking the radio button for either Actuals or Percentages. Click Report. This will show you the achievement level of the class as a whole.
