Math Examples

If you use mathematical or scientific notation placed as a graphic, be sure to include Alt text that accurately "reads" the notation.

Including adequate ALT text allows the screen reader to correctly pronounce the equation.

A cubed plus B cubed equals the quantity A plus B times 
the quantity A squared minus aybee plus B squared.

The ALT text for the above graphic is coded like this: <IMG SRC="algebra.gif" WIDTH="162" HEIGHT="26" ALT="A cubed plus B cubed equals the quantity A plus B times the quantity A squared minus A,B plus B squared.">

Sine of the quantity A plus B equals the quantity sine A
