Interpret Priority Registration Number:

Example: 060457
06
045
7
Priority Group
Number of Units Completed at CLPCCD
Random Number Assigned

The above example indicates the student has been assigned to Priority Registration Group 06 because the student has completed all three Matriculation Components, and 45 semester units.

The middle three digits show the exact number of units completed at CLPCCD, which is 45, in this example.

The final number is a random digit assigned by the computer system to even out the flow of students within an individual priority status group.

Interpret Class Add Number:

Only the last four digits of the priority registration number are used by the instructor to determine "add" priority into the class.

After Waitlist students are accommodated, other students may attempt to add into a class after the start of instruction, but MUST do so via the instructor of the class. No other option is available.

The add priority number for new students or first term returning students is zero.

Students who remain on the Waitlist and wish to add should attend the first class.  Instructors will issue add authorization numbers to students in the order that they appear on the Waitlist. If space is still available after Waitlist students, or if a class has no Waitlist, instructors may issue add authorizations as noted above.

FAQs:

I am a continuing student from Spring 12.  What happened to my priority registration status?

All continuing students have been “grandfathered” into the priority registration status they held for Spring 12.  Movement up the registration priority scale for future terms will be based on the criteria noted in this brochure.

Why is the CLPCCD making this revision?

The goal of the original Bond was to support and provide access to local residents.  Giving priority to native students who have invested their time at the colleges honors that intent AND using Matriculation component completion fulfills the mandates made by the State of California.

Where do I find my Priority Registration Number?

Consult your account in CLASS-WEB.  Sign-in, select “Student Services & Fin Aid”, click “Registration”, and click “Check Your Registration Priority Number”.

Will other colleges do the same?

Yes. Each community college district decides on its own priority registration criteria.

Will I lose units earned at other colleges/universities?

No.  Units earned at other college districts and universities will still be used to determine your eligibility for graduation and transfer.  They will NOT be used to determine your priority registration status in the CLPCCD.

What happens if a student takes a break?

The impact of taking time off from your college studies will depend on how long and what terms you miss.  Any student missing two consecutive terms, not counting Summer term, will be deemed to have broken their Catalog Rights and will be classified as a “Returning Student” the first term they return to Chabot or Las Positas College.

What will my priority registration status be the first term back, after taking a break?

The first term after a break students register in Returning Student Group. The priority registration status for the second consecutive term after returning to Chabot or Las Positas College is determined using ALL units completed in the CLPCCD PLUS consideration of whether the 3 Matriculation Components have been fulfilled by the student.

Is exemption from Matriculation possible?

Yes. Consult the Request to Review Priority Registration Status Form for standard requirements which MUST be met.

When is the best time to request exemption?

As early as possible but the deadline is ONE MONTH prior to start of the priority registration cycle for the next term.
