Application & Registration Procedures for RETURNING Students

STEP 1: Apply for Admission
If it has been more than one year since you last attended Las Positas College or Chabot College, you must complete an Application for Admission via the Las Positas College CCCApply website. You will be prompted to register with CCCApply as a new user, and then be directed to the online application. If you do not have internet access, you may complete the paper application form in the Schedule of Classes and submit it in person or mail it to:

Allow 24 hours for processing your application before attempting to register. If you apply in person or by mail, then allow 2-3 business days for processing before attempting to register. There is no fee to apply.
STEP 2: Have Transcripts Sent to Admission & Records Office
If you have not previously done so, have high school and other college/university transcripts (other than Chabot or Las Positas College) sent to the Admissions & Records Office. The Counseling Office must have transcripts prior to meeting with a Counselor.
STEP 3: Financial Assistance
For information on enrollment fee waivers and other sources of financial aid, contact the Financial Aid Office and/or apply for financial aid online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

STEP 4: Attend an Assessment Session
Assessment Schedules are available online, in the Counseling Office, or in the current Class Schedule. You need to schedule an appointment via email (see the Assessment Schedule), be sure to arrive 15 minutes prior to testing. These sessions are timed, and you won't be admitted once testing has begun.For non-native speakers of English, an appropriate English as a Second Language (ESL) test is also available at each of the assessment sessions. At the assessment session you will sign up for a Group Orientation Program Planning Session. Note: You will need to have a daily parking permit.
STEP 5: Attend a Group Orentation Program Planning Session
If you have not previously done so, you must attend a group orientation planning session. Bring along some ideas about your educational goals. The Counselors will discuss assessment test results, educational goals, classes and help you to plan your first semester program of courses to begin progress toward your chosen goals.
STEP 6: Review the Class Schedule
Before completing your schedule:
  1. make sure there are openings in the class you have chosen;
  2. make sure the classes you select do not overlap in times;
  3. check to see if your classes have prerequisites; and
  4. make certain you have met any prerequisites.
STEP 7: Register for Classes
Check the Schedule of Classes to select your classes, or view them online via CLASS-Web. Refer to the CLASS-Web Instructions on how to use our CLASS-Web online system and how to get your Student ID and PIN Numbers.
Adding a Class:
When a semester class has begun, students late in registering will need to check with instructor of desired class to see if they can be added to their class. NOTE: Priority numbers are determined after completing a full semester.
STEP 8: Pay Fees
Fees are normally due within ten days of registration. We currently offer the following options for payment: 1) Pay with a credit card online via CLASS-Web, 2) pay in person at the Admissions window in Building 700, 3) send a check or money order for full payment - DO NOT SEND CASH, 4) enroll in our convenient FACTS Payment Program.  
STEP 9: Have your photo taken for a Student ID Card in Admissions & Records.
Students need a college ID card to purchase books and parking permit, to check out library books, as well as receive student discounts.
STEP 10: Parking Permit
Parking Permit fees are found in the current CLASS-Schedule or on the parking web page. Permits are available ONLINE ONLY via CLASS-Web or at daily ticket machines located in most student parking lots. In order to purchase your permit, you will need to provide your Student ID (SSN) as well as your vehicle license plate number. Failure to display a parking permit, or parking in inappropriate spaces, will result in a citation. There are bike racks around college for bicyclists.
NOTE:
Financial Aid students will need to verify BOGW fee waiver status to receive a parking permit at a reduced fee of $20. EOPS students need to check with EOPS Office.
STEP 11: Buy Books & College Print Card
Books can be purchased on line from the Bookstore website or in person at the LPC Bookstore (Building 1300). Be aware of the Bookstore check acceptance requirements, which are noted in the Class Schedule. Student IDs or verification of class schedule are required. In order to utilize college computers, all users are required to have purchased a college print card from the Bookstore.
