In terms of the DREAM Act, the House leadership has announced that the House will consider the DREAM Act on Wednesday, December 8. Senate Majority Whip Richard Durbin (D-IL) has introduced a revised DREAM Act, S. 3992. S. 3992 has been changed to gather the additional support necessary to reach the 60 votes necessary for cloture. Unlike other versions of the DREAM Act, the bill does not repeal the federal ban on in-state tuition for undocumented immigrants and does not allow undocumented immigrants to receive Pell grants. The bill does provide a legal pathway for citizenship provided that they meet a set criteria. The text of S. 3992 can be found at: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:S.3992.
