As of March 16, 2020, current online class instruction continues as scheduled. District and College campuses are closed until further notice. For labs or limited in-person classes that have yet to be converted online, they are suspended and your faculty will contact you with further information.

Dr Foster's Message to Students Regarding Classes and Covid-19


Per the Order of the County Health Officer to shelter-in-place until April 7, 2020 (11:59 p.m.), starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020 District and College offices are closed, except as noted below. Employees should shelter in place, with the exception of immediately essential functions as outlined in Exemption 10 of the County Health Order. Immediately essential functions are campus safety; District Information Technology Services; College Technology Services; grounds and maintenance; Human Resources, including Benefits; Business Services-Payroll; and College Financial Aid and Admissions and Records. Additional departments may be identified at a later date.

We will provide additional information by Friday, March 20, 2020, as to those functions that may be able to deliver services remotely. Please visit the district website/urgent alerts for additional information.

Master Class Weekend @ LPC
Join us for a weekend of workshops, with talented, motivated people just like you!  Master Class Weekend at LPC will present theater students with the chance to explore a range of topics with Bay Area professionals, excited and ready to share their expertise with you! Our Master Class instructors are currently working (or have worked with) with Berkeley Rep, ACT, Cal Shakes, NCIS: New Orleans, the National Tour of Book of Mormon, and more! Don't miss out!


Date: June 8 & 9, 2019 9am-6pm
Location: Barbara Mertes Center for the Arts at Las Positas College
Registration Fee: $100 for both days. All workshops, warmups, and keynote address included. Lunch Provided both days.  Registration enrolls you in BOTH days, for one low cost! Space is limited!  Email Dept. Coordinator Titian Lish to reserve your spot NOW
Tech Weekend students will develop skills in areas such as:
  • Advanced Prop Making
  • Wig Management and Design
  • Advanced Scenic Painting
  • Costume Organization and Management in Production

 Acting Weekend students will develop skills in areas such as:

  • Dance Class for the Actor
  • Clowning and Physical Comedy
  • Stage Combat
  • Acting for the Camera

Tech and Performance students will come together to explore:

  • Theater for Social Change
  • The Business of Performance
  • Keynote Speaker (check back soon for this announcement!)
