Applying for Early Admission
BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
Please download this PDF with helpful step-by-step instructions on how to participle in the Early Admission program, to ensure successful submission and avoid delays or missed deadlines.
Step 1: Submit an Early Admission Application online
Apply online thru OpenCCC <click here> beginning February 1, 2017. Please read and complete the application carefully to ensure you are part of the Early Admission program. The deadline to apply online is March 1, 2017, end of day.
Paper applications are also available to download from our website at Admissions Forms. Paper applications must be received by the college by Wednesday, 5:00 p.m., March 1, 2017 in order to meet the deadline.
Students who apply after the March 1 deadline will follow the regular new student enrollment process, and will have the New student registration date assigned to Group 06b (if all 3 Core Services completed) or Group 00 (if less than 3 Core Services completed).
Receive a Confirmation Email with your Student ID number
You should receive an email confirming receipt of your application submission, you will also receive an acceptance letter with instructions. This email will include your Student ID Number ("W" followed by 8 digits - e.g. W12345678). Another option to get your W Number is to access your online student account on CLASS-Web: <www.banner-web.clpccd.cc.ca.us:700> by entering your SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER for your USER ID, and your BIRTHDATE for your PIN (e.g. 120190 for Dec 1, 1990). Then click on "What is my W#?" to view your LPC Student ID Number. Be sure to write it down as you will need it for the following steps.
Step 2: Complete the New Student Online Orientation
The Online Orientation provides important information for new students about academic programs, class registration procedures, available student support services, and the assessment process. Important: You must login with your "W" number (student ID number) and pass the final quiz to receive credit for this orientation.
(Step 2 must be completed by March 31, 2017)
Step 3 and 4: Make an appointment to take English/Math Assessments
Information concerning assessment dates and instructions for attending a testing session for the required Math and English assessment will be provided in your acceptance letter, which will be emailed to you as a PDF attachment. If you have completed Steps 1 - 2 but have not yet received your acceptance letter, you may click this link to take you to the Assessment webpage.
(Step 3 and 4 must be completed by April 2, 2017)
Step 5: Attend an Early Admission Group Session to Plan Classes for Your First Semester
At the end of your Math/English assessment session, you will sign up for an EA Group Session. Here you will meet with a counselor in a small group setting to develop an abbreviated student education plan (for at least one semester).
Step 6: Prepare for your Registration Date
Refer to Step 6 in "Early Admissions Instructions (PDF)" to ensure that you will not have any issues registering for classes.
Step 7: Register for Classes
You may register for classes online via CLASS-Web starting at 7:00 am on May 6, 2017.
All students MUST complete all the above steps to be a part of the Early Admissions Program.
Step 8: Pay Fees
Pay fees online using Class-Web before the drop deadline.
Step 1: by March 1, 2017
Step 2: by March 31, 2017
Step 3 & 4: by April 2, 2017
Students are reminded to pay their fees by the posted deadlines to avoid being dropped from their classes by our system.
