Students
The staff in the Center would like to assist you in your job search. Through resume assistance, teaching job search techniques and helping with the use of technology, the staff helps students take control of their search.
Please make an appointment to discuss your employment search and to leave your resume so staff can communicate opportunities to you. It is important for you to be in contact with the staff throughout your search in order to receive information throughout the semester.
Employers
If you are looking for employees, Las Positas College has a wide variety of students ready to fill your needs. Las Positas students are up dating skills, completing certificates, earning Associate Degrees and working on transfer requirements toward a four-year degree. Most of our students require employment and they are encourage by the College staff to seek opportunities that will match their studies to the world of work.
While part-time employment works well for most students, others seek full-time opportunities.
There are many ways our students search for work:
- The Employment Center accepts employment postings through emails, fax and regular mail at no cost to you for our Job Board located in our Student Center, Bldg. 1700.
- We also refer employers and students to our local community

is what you do if you want to email or fax a posting for our
Job Board:
- Write a posting to include: title of the job, location,
hours, duties, skills, salary range and contact person.

- All job announcements are sent to the appropriate department and faculty as well as post on our Job Board. The job opportunity is posted for approximately two weeks and then removed unless contacted by the employer.
- Write a posting to include: title of the job, location,

- Tax considerations are often available to employers who hire a student through our CalWORKs and Disabled student programs. Contact CalWORKs Coordinator at 925-424-1432 and Workability Coordinator at 925-424-1539.
Other things employers can do:
- Be a career speaker for one of our workshops or career classes.
- Offer a job shadowing experience to one of our students.
- Represent your company at our Job Fair in Spring in April.
- Consider offering an internship opportunity
