Las Positas College

Located in the rolling hills of Livermore, California, Las Positas College is in an ideal location to access many world reknown attractions. Our proximity to the major Bay Area cities such as San Francisco, San Jose, and Berkeley provides unique cultural opportunities.

Las Positas' nearness to the Pacific Ocean and Sierra Nevada mountains offers excellent recreational activities. The Pacific Coast is 1.5 hours to the west, San Francisco Bay is 45 minutes to the west, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite Valley are 4 to 5 hours to the east, Silicon Valley is 1 hour to the south, and the Napa and Sonoma Valleys are 2 hours to the north.

Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is the largest, most beautiful and pristine alpine lake in North America. The California/Nevada state line runs vertically through the middle of the Lake. The City of South Lake Tahoe is in California, while the Tahoe Township of Douglas County, Nevada is just across the state line. Together, they comprise the community of Lake Tahoe, South Shore, with a combined population of about 40,000.

Yosemite National Park

Yosemite ValleySprayed by thousand-foot waterfalls and framed by monumental granite spires - including Half Dome - it is the most famous glacially carved landscape in the world.
