to the west, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite Valley are 4 to 5 hours
to the east, Silicon Valley is 1 hour to the south, and the Napa
and Sonoma Valleys are 2 hours to the north.

Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is the largest, most beautiful and pristine alpine lake in North America. The California/Nevada state line runs vertically through the middle of the Lake. The City of South Lake Tahoe is in California, while the Tahoe Township of Douglas County, Nevada is just across the state line. Together, they comprise the community of Lake Tahoe, South Shore, with a combined population of about 40,000.
