Sponsored by the World Cultures Alliance

Date: Monday, April 23, 2007
Time: 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Location: Room 801 (Little Theater)

The World Cultures Alliance, a student club at Las Positas College is pleased to announce that Tyler MacNiven, co-winner of CBS The Amazing Race, Season 9, will be a guest speaker and share his experience on the hit reality TV competition on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 6:30 pm in the Little Theater (Room 801) at Las Positas College.

Tyler's rise to fame began with his unique approach to gain admission at Stanford University. Later, with only a drawing to aid him, Tyler walked the 2,000 mile length of Japan with the hope of finding his fathers birthplace. Along the way, he befriended many Japanese people and learned much about their culture and himself. He will show clips of this adventure in an award-winning documentary he made titled Kintaro Walks Japan. Tyler will also show a few never before seen clips from a soon to be released documentary I ran Iran in which he attempted to walk across the Islamic Republic of Iran. This is in addition to him showing highlights from his experience on The Amazing Race with B.J. (the so-called hippies). Tyler also recently had a part in the movie The Pursuit of Happiness.

Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer session. DVDs and CDs will be sold. A $5 suggested donation will be collected at the door. Parking at Las Positas College is by permit only. Day permits can be purchased in the parking lots for $2.
