Transfer Degrees - Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT)

Associate Degree for Transfer

Students who complete an Associate Degree for Transfer (either an AA-T or AS-T) are guaranteed to be eligible for admission to a non-impacted similar major at a local California State University campus. For Las Positas College, local CSU campuses include CSU East Bay and San Francisco State University. The following campuses also guarantee admission to eligible ADT students: Monterey Bay, Bakersfield, Channel Islands, Dominguez Hills, Humboldt, Maritime Academy, Northridge, Stanislaus. The transfer degree may also increase chances of admission to competitive CSU campuses and/or majors, and provides benefits after transfer for all CSU campuses that accept the degrees. For more information, including a list of available degrees at Las Positas College, please visit

  • Some campuses and majors at the CSU will be impacted, meaning that they have more applicants than openings. This makes admission more difficult. When planning your transfer path, it is important to be aware of which programs are impacted and how that affects admission criteria.

Campus and Major Impaction
  • Several CSU campuses give priority to transfer students that attend community colleges in the local area surrounding the CSU. Transfer students should consider applying to CSU campuses within their local area; to find out which CSUs qualify, follow the link below.
