Transfer Application Lab

Every Tuesday (9:00-1:00) and Wednesday (9:30-2:30), students can meet with a counselor during drop-in hours to get help with:

  • CSU or UC admission applications
  • UC TAG application
  • private or out-of-state college applications
  • figuring out their transferable GPA
  • guidance on writing personal statements and UC personal insight questions

The Transfer Application Lab services are on a drop-in basis. Visit us in the Transfer Center (room #1604)! Note: the hours are subject to change.

The Smart Shop Series

This fall, LPC is launching The Smart Shop Series! These are workshops that are designed to help students build their skills for success in academics, transfer and career. Visit The Smart Shop Series website for more information and to register for a workshop.

The Transfer Center will be hosting workshops on topics such as: how to complete the CSU application; how to complete the UC application; how to TAG to a UC; how to answer UCs personal insight questions; and how to choose a major. Opportunities for Premeds

Stanford Summer Community College Premedical Program
The Stanford Summer Community College Premedical Program (SSCCPP) targets current community college students considered low-income and/or underrepresented in medicine providing exposure to medicine and health through topics in health disparities, leadership challenges in health provision and administration, science success strategies, professional development, clinical exposure, successful preparation for the medical school application process, postsecondary and graduate/professional school financing. Apply here

Stanford Community College Research Internship

The mission of this Community College Science Internship Program is to promote and nurture science literacy, aptitude, and interest by exposing science to talented and motivated community college underrepresented students in an exciting, committed, supportive environment through mentorship and scholarly pursuit.

Students will participate in training seminars on Fridays from 2:00-4:00pm at Stanford University, May 18, 2018-June 15, 2018

June 18th-August 10th: 8 weeks of full-time research experience paired with a Stanford University mentor Students will receive a $3,000 stipend. Apply here


Bay Area Design Thinking Medicine Challenge

The Design Thinking Medicine Challenge is an opportunity for San Francisco Bay and surrounding area undergraduates to come together, learn about the Design Thinking principles, and apply them to a challenge threatens the health and wellness of a community in the Bay Area. 

Competitors will be organized into teams who will attend five sessions culminating in a competition to design the best solution to the health or wellness challenge. 

Using Desing Thinking principles, each team will create and present their solution to a panel of judges and a healthcare consumer or employee. 

Participants must be able to participate ALL sessions. Each session is held from 9am - 1pm on the Stanford Medicine campus on the following dates:

  • April 28, 2018
  • April 29, 2018
  • May 5, 2018
  • May 6, 2018
  • May 19, 2018 (Team gathering and preparation)
  • May 20, 2018 - Design Thinking Medicine Challenge

Participant registration ends on March 31, 2018. This opportunity is open to all undergraduates in the San Francisco Bay and surrounding area. Stanford affiliation is not a requirement for participation.

This competition is free. Registration to attend the Design Challenge on May 20th will be open to the public. Attendee registration will open on May 1, 2018. Undergraduates interested in competing in this event can reigster here on a first come, first serve basis.
