New Services to Support Students

Transfer orientation programs for newly admitted students have been scheduled throughout June, July and August.  These specialized, half-day sessions allow new transfer students to receive advising information from their academic program and register while on-campus.  In advance of the orientation program, newly admitted students are able to access an online degree audit which illustrates transfer coursework which has fulfilled general education requirements as well as remaining requirements which must be fulfilled for graduation.  The degree audit service was made available to new and continuing students in summer 2006 and has been praised by students for its ease of use and instant access to personal advising information.

Spotlight: Concurrent Enrollment Programs with UC and CSU
Did you know that LPC students can enroll in coursework at UC Berkeley or CSU East Bay for FREE? The Concurrent Enrollment program with UC Berkeley and the Cross Registration program with CSU East Bay allow eligible LPC students to try out each of these two universities prior to transfer. For eligibility criteria and additional information, please visit the LPC Transfer Center (Building 900).

Spotlight: UC Berkeley Starting Point Mentorship Program
Applications are now available for Spring 2008 participation in the UC Berkeley Starting Point Mentorship Program. The goal of the program is to offer LPC students an opportunity to connect with UC Berkeley student mentors who can provide appropriate information, access to resources, and share their campus experiences. Former LPC students who successfully transferred to UC Berkeley serve as mentors in the program. Students in the program are requested to indicate participation on the UC application, which may be considered in the admission process. Sign-up sheets for interested students are available in the Transfer Center.
