Web Account Request Process
The Web Account Request Process exists to identify the type, purpose and individual responsible for maintaining a website at Las Positas College. The Web Account Request Process is not about refusing or denying anyone a website. Rather, this formalizes an unwritten process that has been in place for several years, and will help streamline website creation in the future.
Websites at Las Positas College fall into three categories:
- Institutional Websites: A website where the majority of the content is composed of institutional information, such as academic programs and/or student services. Example: Counseling, Financial Aid, VCOM, etc.
- Departmental Websites: A website where the majority of the content is composed of institutional, non-curriculum information, specific to an academic program (beyond the scope of the catalog description), and may contain materials such as current events, activities, and resources for students and the community. Example: Performing Arts.
- Instructional Website: A website where the majority of the content is composed of instructional materials, such as course syllabi and class assignments.
- Student Club Websites: Las Positas College does not provide student clubs with space on our servers to host club websites. Please refer to the Student Clubs website for more information.
