Your access to high quality health care and wellness education on campus. The health center is managed and operated by ValleyCare Health System. All registered students may use the Health & Wellness Center. Most services are included in your health fee, while other services are available at low costs. In order to keep your wait time under ten minutes medical services are provided on an appointment basis. All urgent problems are handled immediately.

Primary and Urgent Care

  • ValleyCare Nurse Practitioner assessment, evaluation, treatment, and prescriptions for minor illnesses and minor injury
  • Physicals and well visits
  • STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) testing and counseling
  • Variety of lab work
  • Triage and Referrals for complex and emergency medical treatment
  • Mental Health Triage

Women's Health Services

  • Pap smears
  • Breast exams
  • Birth Control - Condoms available free at front desk *limit 2 per day*
  • Pregnancy testing * limit two free tests per semester *
  • Referrals for family planning
  • STI testing and counseling

Immunizations

  • MMR
  • Tetanus / Pertussis
  • Flu shot *Free
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • TB Testing * Free

Mental Health Services

  • Crisis counseling
  • Short term counseling by a marriage, family therapist
  • Referrals for mental health services in the community

Wellness Services

  • Chair Massage ~ 1st and 3rd Thursday of the Month 10-4
  • Alcohol-Drug Referrals
  • Stress management tools
  • Smoking Cessation tools
  • Wellness Events & Outreach

Students Rights and Responsibilities

We want you to be an active participant regarding your health care. You have the right to know and understand:

  • Health services policies
  • Privacy Rights
  • Names of persons providing services
  • What medicine is recommended and its side effects and risks
  • What tests are being recommended and why
  • The prospects for resolution of your problem
  • How the problem can be prevented in the future

Your Responsibilities

  • Being honest about your past medical history and what you expect from each visit
  • Answering questions completely
  • Making sure you understand directions
  • Following the prescribed plan
  • Reporting changes in your health or adverse effects of treatment
  • Keeping scheduled appointments
